Ces images, à la fois documentaires et réinventées, interrogent des espaces où le sol devient mémoire et projection. À travers les strates d’archives, les paysages industriels et les jeux d’ombres et de lumières en studio, le travail propose une lecture ambigüe et fragmentée du monde souterrain. À la fois archaïques et contemporaines, les formes, les textures et les lumières composent une expérience visuelle qui invite le spectateur à se perdre dans les profondeurs – à la rencontre de ce qui nous soutient et nous échappe tout à la fois. Parmi les nombreuses politiques climatiques envisagées, une seule promet de réduire les températures moyennes sur Terre en quelques mois. De la capture du carbone aux machines conçues pour éclaircir les nuages, ce projet nous invite à imaginer le monde après le déploiement de ces technologies aux conséquences potentiellement imprévisibles. S’appuyant sur des brevets réels et des dispositifs imaginés pour modifier le climat, OKTA-9 projette une réalité à la frontière du possible, où l’ingénierie devient stratégie de survie. Les images, entre paysages reconnaissables et mondes déviés, composent un univers visuel instable, traversé par le doute, l’anticipation et le vertige. Issus d’enquêtes militaires et gouvernementales (Sign, Grudge, Blue Book), ces images incarnent un paradoxe : à la fois traces d’un phénomène insaisissable et supports d’un récit qui nous dépasse. Elles inscrivent dans la matière photographique l’étrangeté d’un monde dont nous n’aurions peut-être pas encore les outils pour comprendre l’existence. Sous la cendre, entre la mer et le feu, elle questionne comment subsister dans un environnement aux ressources limitées. Pelle di Lava puise son origine dans deux catastrophes survenues en 2022 : un incendie ravageant la végétation de l’île, suivi de pluies torrentielles provoquant des coulées de boue qui atteignirent le village. À travers ce projet, Chiara Indelicato propose une réflexion sur l’urgence climatique, revendiquant une relation animiste avec la nature et le droit de défendre cette terre vivante et fragile, dont le volcan devient lui-même le porte-parole. Développant ses images avec du café, de la vitamine C et de l’eau de mer, en l’absence de moyens polluants, elle tisse un lien organique entre son procédé et l’île, rude et indomptable. Collaborant avec des artistes confirmés et émergents, elle publie des ouvrages qui interrogent le rapport complexe entre la photographie et le réel, explorant comment les images façonnent, altèrent ou révèlent notre compréhension du monde. À travers ses publications, Palais Books engage également une réflexion écologique, en examinant la matérialité des images, leur rôle dans les récits contemporains et leur impact sur notre environnement. Cette démarche s’accompagne d’une attention particulière au design et à la fabrication, faisant de chaque livre un objet soigné, porteur de sens et d’engagement. Yann Linsart est diplômé de l’École nationale supérieure de la photographie en 2008. Par la suite il devient designeur graphique et travaille dans l’édition de beaux livres. Ces images, à la fois documentaires et réinventées, interrogent des espaces où le sol devient mémoire et projection. À travers les strates d’archives, les paysages industriels et les jeux d’ombres et de lumières en studio, le travail propose une lecture ambigüe et fragmentée du monde souterrain. À la fois archaïques et contemporaines, les formes, les textures et les lumières composent une expérience visuelle qui invite le spectateur à se perdre dans les profondeurs – à la rencontre de ce qui nous soutient et nous échappe tout à la fois. Parmi les nombreuses politiques climatiques envisagées, une seule promet de réduire les températures moyennes sur Terre en quelques mois. De la capture du carbone aux machines conçues pour éclaircir les nuages, ce projet nous invite à imaginer le monde après le déploiement de ces technologies aux conséquences potentiellement imprévisibles. S’appuyant sur des brevets réels et des dispositifs imaginés pour modifier le climat, OKTA-9 projette une réalité à la frontière du possible, où l’ingénierie devient stratégie de survie. Les images, entre paysages reconnaissables et mondes déviés, composent un univers visuel instable, traversé par le doute, l’anticipation et le vertige. Loin de se limiter à une vision purement dystopique, OKTA-9 explore le côté poétique et vertigineux de cette irréversibilité environnementale, tout en soulevant les implications éthiques et en stimulant la discussion sur la responsabilité humaine face à la manipulation du climat. Issus d’enquêtes militaires et gouvernementales (Sign, Grudge, Blue Book) ces images incarnent un paradoxe : à la fois traces d’un phénomène insaisissable et supports d’un récit qui nous dépasse. Elles inscrivent dans la matière photographique l’étrangeté d’un monde dont nous n’aurions peut-être pas encore les outils pour comprendre l’existence. Perdre le nord traite du territoire iraqo-syrien lors de la période de domination de l’organisation terroriste Daesh sur ce dernier. Le travail de Carine Krecké aborde des thèmes comme la surveillance de masse, la guerre, la violence, le terrorisme. Des méthodes d’investigation aux allures forensiques, telles que l’analyse de données en source ouverte ou l’intelligence géospatiale, sont questionnées, voire détournées, dans le cadre de projets documentaires qui brouillent les frontières entre réel et fiction, vérité et mensonge, présent et passé, et même entre le statut d’auteur et celui de protagoniste. Les enquêtes de Carine Krecké s’étalent sur plusieurs années, car elles impliquent, en amont, la constitution d’archives, notamment cartographiques, vastes et complexes. Pour relever le défi du transport de données techniques dans le champ esthétique, l’artiste mobilise une panoplie de médiums, allant des arts visuels à la littérature. Ce travail est lauréat du Luxembourg Photography Award 2025 et sera présenté dans le cadre de la programmation des Rencontres d’Arles 2025 à la chapelle de la Charité sous le commissariat de Kevin Muhlen, directeur du Casino Luxembourg - Forum d’art contemporain et de Michèle Walerich, responsable du département photographie au Centre national de l’audiovisuel. Sous la cendre, entre la mer et le feu, elle questionne comment subsister dans un environnement aux ressources limitées. Pelle di Lava puise son origine dans deux catastrophes survenues en 2022 : un incendie ravageant la végétation de l’île, suivi de pluies torrentielles provoquant des coulées de boue qui atteignirent le village. À travers ce projet, Chiara Indelicato propose une réflexion sur l’urgence climatique, revendiquant une relation animiste avec la nature et le droit de défendre cette terre vivante et fragile, dont le volcan devient lui-même le porte-parole. Développant ses images avec du café, de la vitamine C et de l’eau de mer, en l’absence de moyens polluants, elle tisse un lien organique entre son procédé et l’île, rude et indomptable. Ce livre a reçu le soutien de la Région PACA, de Favini, de la galerie Le Lieu de la photographie (Lorient) et de la librairie Les Modernes (Grenoble). Ce livre accompagne l'exposition Michel Medinger - Lord of Things présentée aux Rencontres d'Arles 2024 et au Luxembourg.Né en 1941 au Luxembourg, Michel Medinger se passionne d’abord pour la peinture, avant de se consacrer à la photographie à partir des années 1960. Il débute comme photoreporter pour la fédération luxembourgeoise d’athlétisme, lui-même ayant participé aux Jeux Olympiques de 1964 à Tokyo. Travaillant pour les laboratoires de l’État luxembourgeois, il met à profit ses connaissances étendues en chimie pour expérimenter de multiples procédés photographiques. Sa pratique artistique s’affirme dans les années 1980 et constitue un corpus d’œuvres remarquables, tant par sa maîtrise parfaite des techniques que par la singularité de ses compositions très soignées. Exposées au Luxembourg, en France, aux États-Unis, en Chine ou encore au Japon, ses photographies font partie de collections privées et publiques, luxembourgeoises et internationales. Régroupée dans une boite sérigraphiée, la publication se compose de fiches en français et en anglais pour chaques artistes. Durant 24 jours MSH a construit, dans l’espace du musée, un labyrinthe de briques les yeux bandés, puis le dernier jour l’a détruit. À partir des nombreuses photographies qui constituent la documentation de la performance, le livre propose une lecture non linéaire, elle même sujette à des constructions et déconstructions. Sans reliure, tel un journal, le lecteur est invité à suivre deux numérotations, une en chiffre arabes, l’autre en chiffre romains. La première lecture offre un déroulé chronologique de l’événement, tandis que la seconde donne l’accès à une nouvelle part de textes et d’images. Cette différentes voies donnent alors l’accès à un labyrinthe aussi bien visuel que mental. En pliant, dépliant et assemblant les feuilles de différentes manières, nous sommes amenés à modifier l’expérience que nous avons du livre et à appréhender de façon singulière celle de la performance.
